Blessings and Peace to you in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ!
Congratulations! First for coming to our web page but second, and most importantly, for looking for a way to grow closer to God! You have found the right place!
Protestant Women of the Chapel (PWOC) is an exciting international organization that was started in 1955 in Europe. PWOC’s mission statement is: PWOC is God empowered, Christ centered and Spirit led; exists as an extension of the chapel; encourages women to grow spiritually within the body of Christ through prayer, the study of God's Word, worship and service; is sponsored by the Army Chief of Chaplains and is recognized by the leadership of the Air Force, Navy, Marine and Coast Guard Chaplaincy. Take a moment to look at the PWOC International web site at pwoconline.org.
Here on Okinawa, we are a diverse group made up of Army, Navy, Marine and Air Force spouses, civilian women who are school teachers and government employees and active duty women. We meet throughout the year on Tuesdays (either in the morning or evening) enjoying bible studies, fellowship and great food and we offer on-site childcare during our daytime studies. We offer a wide range of bible studies to appeal to all needs and interests.
PWOC meets on Kadena Air Base at Chapel 3. Please see the “Directions” tab to find out how to get here. We welcome anyone of any denomination from any base on the island! It is a great place to meet other women and share “survival” stories of being new to a foreign country on an island far from home. We share information on raising children, great restaurants, grocery shopping, schools, chapels, coping with deployments and dealing with life’s ups and downs.
If you have any questions or would like more information, please don’t hesitate to contact us at general@pwockadena.org. I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to Okinawa and our wonderful family here at PWOC!
…if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”
